Character: Off-white to light yellow powder.

Pharmacological effect:

Pharmacodynamics: Neomycin belongs to aminoglycoside antibacterial drugs, and its antibacterial spectrum is similar tokanamycin. It has a strong antibacterial effect on most Gram-negative bacilli such as Escherichia coli, Proteus, Salmonella and Pasteurella multocida, and is also sensitive to Staphylococcus aureus. Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Gram-positive bacteria (except Staphylococcus aureus), rickettsia, aerobic bacteria and fungi are resistant to this product.

Pharmacokinetics: Oral administration and topical application of neomycin are rarely absorbed. After oral administration, only 3% of the total amount is excreted in urine, and most of it is excreted in feces unchanged. Inflammation or ulceration of the intestinal mucosa can increase absorption. Injection is absorbed quickly, and its in vivo process is similar tokanamycin.

Medicine interactions:

① Combination of neomycin and macrolide antibiotics can treat mastitis caused by Gram-positive bacteria. 

② Oral administration of neomycin can affect the absorption of digitalis drugs, vitamin A or vitamin B12. 

③ Combined use with penicillins or cephalosporins has a synergistic effect. 

④ The antibacterial effect of this product is enhanced in an alkaline environment, and the combination with alkaline drugs (such as sodium bicarbonate, aminophylline, etc.) can enhance the antibacterial effect, but the toxicity is also enhanced accordingly. When the pH value exceeds 8.4, the antibacterial effect is weakened. 

⑤Cations such as Ca2+, Mg2+, Na+, NH4+ and K+ can inhibit the antibacterial activity of this class of drugs. 

⑥ Combined use with cephalosporins, dextran, strong diuretics (such as furosemide, etc.), erythromycin, etc., can enhance the ototoxicity of this class of drugs. 

⑦ Skeletal muscle relaxants (such as succinylcholine chloride, etc.) or drugs with such effects can enhance the neuromuscular blockade of this class of drugs.

Indication: Aminoglycoside antibiotics. For the treatment of gastrointestinal infections caused by sensitive gram-negative bacteria.

Usage and dosage: Based on this product. Mix drinking: poultry 0.15-0.23g: 1Lwater, for 3-5 consecutive days.

Adverse reaction: Neomycin is the most toxic of the aminoglycosides, but toxic reactions rarely occur with internal administration or topical administration.

Note: Layers are prohibited during the laying period.

Withdrawal period: Broiler, layer, breeder 5 days, turkey 14 days.
